About Me
I am bodyworker and visual artist living and working near the Mississippi River in Minneapolis, Minnesota, until February 2012 when I’ll be moving to China (more about that below!)
I’ve completed over 900 hours of training in Asian bodywork forms, including Shiatsu, Thai Yoga Bodywork, Reiki, and cupping. My teachers include those of CenterPoint School in Minneapolis, the Lotus Palm School of Montreal, a Tibetan Massage center in Mcleod Ganj, India, and study with midwife and healer Homprang at Baan Hom Samunphrai in Thailand. I am a Certified Practitioner of Asian Bodywork through the AOBTA. In 2008 I opened Chakra Khan Massage & Asian Bodywork with my friend Jesse Haas.
I have a B.A. In Studio Arts from the University of Minnesota, and have been back on campus recently, taking classes in Cultural Studies and Anthropology. I’ve also spent a good part of the last four years as a manager at Blooma, an inspiring yoga and education center in Linden Hills that supports moms-to-be and families.
In April of this year I studied bodywork in Thailand and visited Hong Kong–you can read about (and SEE) all the cool stuff I encountered, as well as more recent news, on the blog.
Speaking of recent news, in February of 2012 I’m moving to Shanghai to join my husband, who’s working at a Chinese law firm. (So you should get into see me soon!) I’ll miss everyone in Minnesota, and working at Chakra Khan, but I know it’s going to be a great adventure and I’m going to learn a lot. You can keep up with it all on the blog or on twitter. You can even sign up to get blog posts in your inbox. So handy.
I enjoy my practices, and I hope you will, too!
See you soon,
